St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Seattle uses text messages to keep members of our congregation up to date about church life.
What we send
If a member chooses to receive text messages, messages may include:
- Schedule changes, such as a service or class canceled because of snow or bad weather
- Reminders, such as letting ushers know they are scheduled to serve that weekend
- Group messages, such as the choir director writing to all members of the choir
- Other communications directly related to St. Luke’s services, activities, and groups
How often
Message frequency varies with the church calendar and the groups you belong to. Message and data rates may apply.
Texts are optional
Text messaging is optional. You can create and use a St. Luke’s account without agreeing to receive text messages.
Members who want text messages opt in by checking a separate, optional text-message consent box, either when they register or later on the Text messages tab of their account page. The box is unchecked by default, and giving us a phone number does not, by itself, sign you up.
Stopping texts or getting help
To stop receiving text messages, reply STOP to any St. Luke’s text message, or untick the box on the Text messages tab of your account page. You may receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed.
Reply HELP for assistance. You can also email admin@stlukes-clc.com.
Your number stays with us
St. Luke’s does not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or text-message consent information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
